How myRiva reached a 50% efficiency gain with Avahi

myRiva, a leading corporate travel marketplace, wanted automated code review and stronger QA. Avahi stood out as an AWS partner and delivered. In their CTO’s words: it’s been like adding engineers to the team.

01 / About myRiva

A marketplace that rewrote the rules of corporate travel

myRiva is a leading corporate travel marketplace, and it deliberately broke from the traditional model. Instead of acting as a travel management company, myRiva runs as a marketplace, letting travelers book directly with their preferred hotel or airline.

That direct-booking approach means travelers keep the loyalty points they earn, with a seamless experience across every source. At the same time the company keeps full control: myRiva still manages the program and enforces travel policy on the organization’s behalf. Travelers get what they want, and the business keeps its guardrails.

Leading technology at myRiva is Tim Krueger, Chief Technology Officer, who brings more than 35 years in technology, the bulk of it inside the travel industry.

02 / The Problem

Two goals: automate code review, and level up QA

myRiva runs lean and ships fast. To keep raising quality without slowing engineers down, the team set two clear targets:

Automate code review.

Take slow, manual review off engineers and make it consistent, repeatable, and always on.

Level up QA.

Build QA that scales with the product, drawing on myRiva’s own features and standards instead of staying frozen in place.

To get there, myRiva needed the right AWS foundation and a partner who could stand it up fast. Building it in-house would have pulled senior engineers straight off the roadmap.

03 / The Solution

Avahi stood out as an AWS partner, and delivered

Both companies run on AWS, so the work started with shared ground and moved fast. Avahi built a foundation that gets stronger over time, in four moves:

Built the AWS environment

Avahi stood up myRiva’s AWS environment as a clean, well-architected base for everything that followed.

Deployed Amazon Bedrock

On AWS, Avahi established Amazon Bedrock, the engine for automated AI and expanded QA, with no model infrastructure for myRiva to manage.

Wired QA into Confluence

The Bedrock engine connects to myRiva’s Confluence. Every new article on features and standards makes QA sharper. The system compounds as the documentation grows.

04 / The Results

"It's been like adding engineers to our team"

myRiva runs lean and ships fast. To keep raising quality without slowing engineers down, the team set two clear targets:

40–50%

Development efficiency gain. Tim calls it the equivalent of adding engineers to the team.

Compounding

QA that gets stronger on its own as more Confluence content connects.

Just the start

A Bedrock foundation already carrying myRiva into its next phase of AI.

The headline is a 40 to 50% development efficiency gain. For a lean team, that lands like new hires. And Tim is clear it is only the beginning: the more myRiva connects into Confluence, the more capable the engine becomes.

“We are realizing about a 40 to 50% efficiency gain in our development. For a company like myRiva, it’s like adding members to our team, and that’s just the start of the journey.”

05 / What's Next

From efficiency gains to full AI orchestration

The Bedrock foundation was designed to carry more than the first workload. myRiva is now planning a broader push into AWS, upgrading its entire tech stack with Avahi involved on several fronts.
As Tim puts it, projects like these are the reason he gets up in the morning. The next chapter takes myRiva’s AI from a single capability to an orchestrated system.
